Szalon is becoming known not only for its magnificent collection of early Modernist Hungarian antiques, but as a site for stimulating visual and decorative arts exhibitions, performances and readings. The gallery is active night and day through a program of cultural salons.
When owner/proprietor Judith Hoffman conceived Szalon, she imagined far more than a retail showroom. She wanted to recreate the glittering soirées of old, to provide a setting for artists, designers and intellectuals to share ideas, conversation and delight. Embracing that vision, the gallery is named Szalon (silent "z"), in its Hungarian spelling.
